Here are some pics of the demoliton of our home. We loved this cottage not only because it is right beside a beautiful beach right in the middle of one of the greatest cities on earth - we loved it because it reminded us of the old cottage we lived in, in Oxfordshire. It had character and  it had lived!. It wasnt perfect and we loved it for that. The floor in the lounge room sank away, there were cracks in a few of the walls and the chimney even fell into the kitchen one windy night! The sea breeze went stright through the place and sometimes when the ocean crashed down outside the whole house would shudder a little. Perfect. We enjoyed so many parties in the tiny space we called a dining room.... we spent many hours sitting with friends enjoying the view and watching the kids and friends and our favourite house sitting dog, Archie, drag sand up the beach and through the house..  I knew the moment we walked up the tiny stairwell on the first house inspection that my husband, C, would  fall in love with it - tongue and groove panneling is his love. And then he said the words, "this is like a little bit of oxfordshire - by the sea!".
Here we go...this is the first time I have "done" a blog. Is that the right terminology?
Have been thinking that having a blog would be a good way to show people my experiences whilst we build our dream home as well as to capture photos and other web sites, etc that I love and that influence me....
